Are you one of the Mary’s?

Luke 1:26-31(Amplified Bible)

26Now in the sixth month [after that], the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town of Galilee named Nazareth,

27To a girl never having been married and a virgin engaged to be married to a man whose name was Joseph, a descendant of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.

28And he came to her and said, Hail, O favoured one [endued with grace]! The Lord is with you! Blessed (favoured of God) are you before all other women!

29But when she saw him, she was greatly troubled and disturbed and confused at what he said and kept revolving in her mind what such a greeting might mean.

30And the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found grace ( reed, spontaneous, absolute favour and loving-kindness) with God.

31And listen! You will become pregnant and will give birth to a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus.

From the above verses we could see that Mary was engaged to Joseph, she was about to get married but that did not give her liberty to jump into the bed with Joseph. If Mary had jumped into bed with Joseph before their wedding day, do you think God would have sent an angel to her? The answer is no. You might say other Christians do it, that is true but it does not make it right.

Mary found favour before God because she kept herself. You can imagine how fearful she was when the angel told her she would become the mother of the saviour, even though it sounded like a mystery to her, she trusted God because she knew the God she was serving. From the moment Jesus was born her life had great honour, she became the mother of the Messiah, Jesus Christ the saviour of the world and she was a willing servant. God knew that Mary was a woman of rare strength and obedience.

Nowadays girls and boys jump into the bed with each other all in the name of love. This is a great sin before God.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11(Amplified Bible)

9Do you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived (misled): neither the impure and immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who participate in homosexuality,

10Nor cheats (swindlers and thieves), nor greedy graspers, nor drunkards, nor foulmouthed revilers and slanderers, nor extortioners and robbers will inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God.

You might have attended classes on sex education at your schools and might have been given different information. I would like you to know that the Bible has the best information to give to you. The spirit of pleasure opens the door to error, the spirit of error cripples your dreams, brings shame, humiliation and mockery.

Why don’t you give God a chance and be highly honoured just like Mary, ignore the teasing of your friends, it is just to distract your attention. No matter your situation, remember that God loves you and he is aware that you are under peer and societal pressure but all the same he wants you to call unto Him and He will surely answer you. You are the future of the church.

1 Timothy 4:12(Amplified Bible)

12Let no one despise or think less of you because of your youth, but be an example (pattern) for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.
